Fuelling Antarctica Expedition

Drilling for 'Ancient Ice'
We're honoured to be apart of Australia's quest for 'Ancient Ice'. We designed, engineered and manufactured 52 x 10,000L fuel tanks right here at our Derrimut facility that made their way 1,200kms from Casey Station, to the Dome C North drill site in Antarctica. The tanks are there to provide the fuel that would assist the team of scientists drilling to find a 'Million Year Ice Core'.
The tanks were engineered and manufactured to be able to withstand the extreme Antarctic conditions of up to -50 degrees celsius. We also manufactured the ISO frame to house the tanks for ease of transport on land, rail, sea and ice!
This project took 2 years to complete and we're proud that we were apart of an international mission of this scale, and could show the ability of our entire team.
